Day 1: Ourika river → Setti Fatma waterfalls → return
Depart Marrakech at 9:00 AM for the one-hour drive up the Ourika valley. Stop at a women’s argan cooperative to see how Morocco’s famous oil is pressed by hand. Continue to Setti Fatma village (980 m) and begin the riverside walk to the seven waterfalls — a gentle path with a few short rocky steps (light scrambling, manageable for ages 4+). Reach the upper cascades (1,200 m) by midday, where natural pools invite a paddle or swim. Lunch at a riverside café beneath the red cliffs, then a relaxed return walk and drive back to Marrakech by 6:00 PM.

Frequently asked questions
Can young children reach the waterfalls?
Yes — the lower cascades are an easy walk. The upper falls involve a short scramble over rocks that children aged 4+ manage with a guiding hand. Your guide will advise on the day.
Is it safe to swim?
In the warmer months (May–September) the natural pools at the base of the falls are safe for a paddle or swim. Your guide knows the safe spots and will supervise.
How hot is Ourika in summer?
The valley is cooler than Marrakech thanks to the river and shade, but July–August afternoons are warm. We walk in the morning and lunch by the water. Bring sun protection and water.
Is the argan cooperative visit suitable for children?
Yes — children enjoy watching the hand-pressing and tasting the oil with bread. It is a short, optional cultural stop.
How far is Ourika from Marrakech?
About 60 km — roughly one hour each way by private transfer. The drive itself is scenic along the river.
