This trek is rated Easy–Moderate. Easy to moderate — 4–5 hours of gentle open-ground walking with one gradual climb. Suitable for ages 6+; the ground is even but high and exposed.

Atlas trekking rewards endurance over raw strength. Aim for three to four cardio sessions a week — brisk walking, hiking, cycling or stair climbing with a loaded daypack — for eight to twelve weeks before a multi-day trek.

On summit and high routes, a slow conversational pace and constant hydration matter more than any training PR. Train on terrain similar to what you will face and break in every piece of footwear well in advance.

Children aged 6 and over. The walking is gentle and open, but the day is at altitude (up to 2,000 m) and the plateau is exposed, so a wind layer is essential.

Is there any altitude risk?

No — 2,000 m is well below the altitude-sickness threshold. The benefit is big views and cooler air.
