Tor des Géants: The Giant of the Alps

Mountain ridge during an alpine ultra-trail race in Italy

Tor des Géants is one of the most extreme ultra-trail races in the world — ~330 km with ~24,000 m of ascent across the Aosta Valley in the Italian Alps, with a 150-hour cut-off and minimal mandatory rest.

It traverses the Gran Paradiso and Mont Avic national parks, climbing over alpine cols above 3,000 m. The shorter Tor 130, Tor 100 and Tor 30 make the event accessible to a wider range of runners.
