This trek is rated Easy. Easy. Around 11 km of nearly level walking on open paths with only gentle undulation — suitable for children and anyone in reasonable everyday health. Trainers are fine.
No prior trekking experience is needed — sturdy shoes, water and a steady pace are enough.
Atlas trekking rewards endurance over raw strength. Aim for three to four cardio sessions a week — brisk walking, hiking, cycling or stair climbing with a loaded daypack — for eight to twelve weeks before a multi-day trek.
On summit and high routes, a slow conversational pace and constant hydration matter more than any training PR. Train on terrain similar to what you will face and break in every piece of footwear well in advance.
