Everything you need to plan three valleys & atlas foothills — day tour — day-by-day itinerary, difficulty, fitness, altitude, weather, accommodation, food, safety, culture and logistics, from Marrakech to Ourika Valley.
Instead of a single valley, this day threads together three very different Atlas landscapes — the grazing plateaus of Asni, the cliff-hung pilgrimage village of Moulay Brahim, and the green river valley of Ourika — for the fullest one-day taste of the foothills.
We link the three valleys on quiet local roads and paths, timing each stop to avoid the crowds and lunching by the river rather than at a coach-tour restaurant.
First-time visitors and families who want variety, gentle walking and cultural stops rather than one long hike. No experience or special fitness required.
Rated Easy – Moderate, it suits first-time visitors, families and relaxed walkers.

Across 1 day you cover around 8 km, reaching 1,600 m, walking with a Berber mountain guide through the landscapes and villages of Ourika Valley.
None — this is a full-day trip returning to Marrakech the same evening. It pairs well with any of our overnight mountain or desert itineraries if you wish to extend.
A riverside lunch in the Ourika valley: fresh bread, salads, a seasonal tagine or grilled meats and mint tea. Vegetarian and other dietary needs are catered for with notice. Bottled water is provided throughout the day.
A local guide accompanies you throughout on well-travelled paths, carrying a first-aid kit and water. There is no altitude risk and the terrain is non-technical. Basic travel insurance is recommended.
The day is rich in everyday mountain life — shepherds on the Asni plateau, the pilgrimage traditions of Moulay Brahim, and a women’s argan or weaving cooperative in Ourika. A few words of Tamazight and asking before photographing go a long way.
Not included: Tips, Personal expenses, Cooperative purchases.
If you want variety and cultural stops over one long walk, yes. You experience three contrasting landscapes and villages in a day, with gentle walking at each.
Very — the walks are short and gentle, the drives are broken up with stops, and there is plenty to see throughout the day.
The valleys are close together, so drives between them are short. Most of the day is spent walking and exploring on foot.
