Is this better than a single-valley day trip?

If you want variety and cultural stops over one long walk, yes. You experience three contrasting landscapes and villages in a day, with gentle walking at each.

Is it suitable for children?

Very — the walks are short and gentle, the drives are broken up with stops, and there is plenty to see throughout the day.

How much of the day is driving?

The valleys are close together, so drives between them are short. Most of the day is spent walking and exploring on foot.
