Nkob is the main starting point for our South Morocco day hikes. It is a small Amazigh town in the Draa Valley region of Zagora Province, set within a date-palm oasis and surrounded by dozens of earthen kasbahs, at the edge of the Jbel Saghro massif. From Nkob you can walk out into the oasis, climb into the volcanic foothills, or visit Amazigh villages that see almost no other walkers.
Every day hike from Nkob is a guided, private experience with a local hiking guide. You are not following a line on a map — you are spending a day with someone who grew up in this landscape, who can read the irrigation channels, name the rock formations, and open the doors of village houses along the way.
Choose by what you want from the day: a gentle oasis and palm-grove walk, a heritage walk among the kasbahs, an Amazigh village walk, or a bigger mountain day hiking the volcanic ridges of Jbel Saghro. Private options are available on every hike, and difficulty levels range from easy valley walking to challenging mountain days.

October to April is the season for most South Morocco routes — warm, clear days and cold desert nights. Summer is dangerously hot in the pre-Sahara. Jbel Saghro is at its best in winter, when the High Atlas holds deep snow.
