The Complete Guide to M’Goun Valley Trek

Everything you need to plan m’goun valley trek — day-by-day itinerary, difficulty, fitness, altitude, weather, accommodation, food, safety, culture and logistics, from Marrakech to Mgoun Massif.

Why this trek stands out

A river-valley trek through the rose-red canyons of the M’Goun region, wading the famous Mgoun gorges, following irrigation paths between mud-brick villages and camping beneath the vast central Atlas skies — a wilderness journey without a technical summit.

The Mgoun valley delivers the drama of the central Atlas — canyons, rivers and living villages — at a moderate altitude, far from the crowds.

Local culture and responsible travel

We are a community-first operator. We employ local Berber guides, cooks and muleteers at fair wages, source food and lodging from mountain families, and follow strict leave-no-trace principles — carrying out all waste and protecting fragile alpine and desert environments. A share of every booking supports village schools and water projects across the valleys we walk through.
